Patravadi Theatre

Patravadi Theatre is Bangkok's first open- air theatre. It is located in Bangkok, Thonburi side which is one of Bangkok 's oldest neighborhoods, across the Chao Phraya River

It is a home for performing artists. In Thailand, the name Patravadi is synonymous with the performing arts. This theatre was established in 1992 as a public institution for performing arts and gives training of Thai culture, dance and tradition to professional performers and to the new generation.

Patravadi Theatre is widely known as an important venue for staging a variety of productions, ranging from classical to innovative and contemporary styles. Visiting Patravadi theatre you will find The Thai life and activities of the artists. Training of Thai classical dance and drums classes in the garden every Fridays and Saturdays late afternoon. Foreigners are welcomed to participate for only 150 Baht per class.

Every Sunday at 6.00pm one can watch performances of young talents while dining or sipping coffee in the garden. There are comfortable rooms and small apartments with kitchen in the compound if you would like to home stay in the theatre environment.

Hours: Open daily from 9.00am- 8.00pm.
