Cafe Lenotre

A large assortment of somptuous- looking pastries make Cafe Lenotre the prime destination for dessert lovers in Bangkok. The pastries are created by a clearly top- notch French chef, and can be taken out (in a box with dry ice built- in) or enjoyed in the store on a background of easy- listening French music.

Among the highlights is the Volute: a base of chocolate biscuit and a sheet of dark chocolate wrap a layer of chocolate sponge cake, covered by a dome of chocolate- mousse, topped with tea- flavoured creme brulee. Pastries like eclairs and fruit tarts are very good as well.

The morning pastries section is well stocked and quite delicious; the bostock for example (a round slice of brioche dipped in orange blossom sirup and covered with almond cream) is delicious. Cafe Lenotre offers a small assortiment of Parisian macarons as well.
